Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to join our team as a Transportation Logistics Manager, your role is to oversee all aspects of transportation operations, including dispatching, routing, and tracking vehicles or aircraft. You will manage budgets, negotiate with transport providers, and implement strategies to reduce costs and improve efficiency. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with regulations, address customer complaints, and promote a safe work environment. Your goal is to optimize transportation processes to meet company objectives while maintaining high standards of performance and safety.


Responsibilities:


  • Directing all activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking of transportation vehicles or aircraft.
  • Prepare the budget annually to cover all his section requirements.
  • Make sure to fulfil all requirements and equipment within the approved budget without fail.
  • Aware of all industry variables such as fuel cost/ fluctuations, routs availability, curfew timings.
  • Using his analytical skills to calculate the capacities, weight and the best utilization to get the most benefits of each shipment.
  • Prepare vehicles/ equipment inspection, periodic and preventive maintenance plan.
  • Conduct series of negotiation rounds with all transports to reach new/ more cost-effective deals.
  • Study, suggest and implement new methods that will reduce the transportation cost.
  • Study, suggest and implement new methods that will apply more control over the company fleet.
  • Prepare backup plans in case of failures or road incidents or supplier failure to recover the case and fulfil the shipment on time.
  • Prepare a list of approved vendors who are complying with the company's standards and accepting the related SLAs.
  • Define the KPIs that would apply to the vendors/ service providers.
  • Continually re-assess the approved vendors based on their performance and decide to keep them in the approved list or to encloud them.
  • Planning, organizing, and managing subordinate staff members to ensure work is completed and consistent with the company's standards.
  • Directing investigations to verify and resolve internal/ external customer or shipper complaints.
  • Collaborating with staff members to formulate and implement transportation-related procedures as well as company revenue goals and customer service objectives.
  • Well informed on all new techniques of transporting/ stacking and storing material.
  • Complying with transportation-related policies, as well as safety rules, transportation contracts, and government regulations.
  • Promoting safe work activities by conducting safety audits and attending company safety meetings.
