Job Description

As the Store General Manager, you will be responsible for growing the revenue of the business, while maintaining operational standards. You will lead, coach, and motivate your team to deliver excellent customer service standards and demonstrate first-class product knowledge that targets the customers' needs at every opportunity. You will be responsible for managing the store operation to ensure that all store targets are achieved, whilst adhering to company policies and procedures. Promote a positive culture of teamwork by working alongside the leadership team, establishing priorities, and providing clear direction.



Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sales-Opex Activities & Inventory Controls
  • Ensure that assigned sales targets are achieved within the set timelines;
  • Monitor the sales activities on the shop floor and ensure that the quality standards are followed;
  • Manage and ensure that the Opex figures are within the given targets and saving initiatives are the top priorities;
  • Ensure all the needed POs are done on time and within the given budgets;
  • Ensure that the inventory calendar is being adhered to and the shrinkages controls are being followed and implemented;
  • Prepare regular reports for top management when needed.


Customer Experience

  • An ambassador and leader of the customer experience; you look to develop relationships with customers and provide mentorship and coaching to your team to ensure the same;
  • Ensure that customers are served efficiently and timely to maximize customer satisfaction;
  • Ensure that all failed service tickets are being solved and registered through the right channels.


Store Management

  • Oversee the implementation of Planograms on the shop floor;
  • Ensuring that there are Zero errors within the product merchandising;
  • Ensure standards for quality and health and safety are met, and the showroom environment is clean;
  • Tour the sales floor regularly, identify the needs and resolve urgent issues.


Team Management

  • Coach and develop store and management team, through setting expectations, communication, coaching, feedback and ongoing support;
  • Create development plans and conduct annual appraisals for the management team; support and coach to improve any performance gaps, and conducts ongoing coaching to improve the team;
  • Review and monitor the daily rosters of the showroom staff;
  • Conduct the required training sessions when its needed;
  • Deal with staffing issues such as interviewing potential qualified staff;
  • Working on building second and third line of qualified staff for future expansions;
  • Update colleagues on business performance, new initiatives and adopting changes within.
