About the job
The Senior Solar Technical Engineer will be based in KSA. The Engineer support team goal is to facilitate a positive customer experience during pre-sale & psot-sale. The Senior Technical Support Engineer will ensure that product and continuing technical support exceeds customer expectations and is of the highest quality possible, developing customer loyalty and providing great technical support services.
Job Requirement :
- Support Sales team as part of initial training process and where needed thereafter
- Oversee/Design/Support utility, commercial and grid supplied Solar Photovoltaic systems.
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications of PV systems to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements
- Responsible for structural, electrical, geotechnical, during installation process to assure the design meets technical and code requirements.
- Provide technical support to bidding for the technical proposals and customer presentations
- Participate in meetings and technical presentations to customers, investors, and PV technical community
- Provide engineering/technical input and direction to site evaluation, interconnect agreements and other associated tasks
- Work with appropriate electric utilities to prepare and process interconnection paperwork
- Review specifications for purchases of materials or equipment
- Identify appropriate equipment for use in PV systems and perform technical qualification of vendors
- Support Project Management and construction team with ongoing technical project.
- Review of other design engineers’ work during design phase
- Develop necessary customer deliverables such as concept module layouts, single line diagrams, equipment or material specifications, engineering validation, 3-D renderings and photo simulations
- Assist with Request for Proposal (RFP’s) review, technical writing, and response coordination
Skills
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, renewable engineering, other engineering disciplines, or closely related technical field. “Master’s degree an asset.”
- 5+ years of related work experience in the development, design, construction, commissioning, and/or operation of PV solar, BESS or hybrid projects - must have independently completed a solar layout in current or previous role
- Proficient in Pvsyst software
- Proficient in AutoCAD software
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Understanding of PV design concepts such as module technologies, single axis trackers, fixed tilt systems, power conversion equipment such as inverters and transformers, string sizing, DC/AC ratio, GCR, etc.
- Ability to produce high-quality technical reports
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage several projects concurrently
- Ability to coordinate with a multi-disciplinary team on a daily basis
- A flexible and proactive approach to project delivery with good organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Field experience considered an asset
- Bilingualism an asset
- Must be authorized to work lawfully in KSA
- In-depth knowledge of local (KSA) and national regulations related to solar energy projects
