Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clinic Receptionist will act as the Image bearers of the clinic. The incoming patients will be met by Receptionist and the manner of dealing with the patient shall convey an impression of the entire Clinic. Therefore, the onus is on the Receptionist to be courteous to and prompt in attending, the incoming patients. Providing customer service with a positive, welcoming attitude at all times; maintaining a clutter-free, customer-friendly environment.



POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:


1.   Adheres to established divisional and/or departmental policies and procedures and initiates action in attending to the patients as per established procedures

2.   Responsible for being courteous and prompt in attending the patient, with the basic idea of “rendering service with a smile”.

3.   Answers queries on telephone and makes appointments for the patients, over the telephone if necessary

4.   Ascertains from the Patient the physician he desires to consult and prepares required documents and appointment slip after inputting necessary information in the computer.

5.   Explains financial requirements to the patients or persons responsible for the patient and collects necessary fee as per the established fee schedule.

6.   Verifies all insurance benefits assigned to the clinic to determine insurance coverage meets the standards as per the company and/or policy.

7.   Guides patients to the proper clinic in coordination with the attending porter.

8.   Verifies fee collected from various patients and hands over the cash to the Reception Supervisor for depositing in the Accounts Dept.

9.   Maintains departmental records and files and takes care of departmental equipment.

10. Participates in departmental meetings and related in-service educational programmes.

11. Performs other duties as and when assigned.
