Job Description

Role Summary


The SMA, Internal Medicine will be responsible to work on specific projects & mentor the team of Medical Advisors and Area Medical Advisors for Internal medicine that includes multiple therapy areas such as Neurology, Cardiology, Surgical Specialties, Gastroenterology, and Women’s health (Contraception, Menopausal Health, Nutrition).


The incumbent is required to provide strategic guidance to the Internal medicine team to be aligned with the commercial BU strategies, global medical strategies, local business goals and local customer insights and align the same with the core medical strategy for the respective portfolios.


Role Responsibilities


  • Develops innovative medical strategy for the therapy areas assigned and provides technical expertise to the Commercial team that impacts the product strategy, business direction and business plans of the BU.
  • Provide medical and product expertise for the marketed products. Provide scientific support / rationale and documents for regulatory submission for various innovative products; Review labeling documents for pipeline/local products per relevant SOPs.
  • Actively engage with key external stakeholders such as key opinion leaders, physician associations and regulatory bodies for customer insights, advocacy and relationship building for the specific projects in alignment with Pfizer policies and local regulations.
  • Develop and implement a robust publication and data mining strategy.
  • Lead and work collaboratively with the regional medical team and local regulatory & clinical operations teams on pipeline, prioritization for new products, and their eventual launch strategy
  • Provide operational support to the Primary Care & Partnerships Medical Lead as required

REQUIRED SKILL SET


  • MD with 5-8 years of progressive experience in Pharma or allied industry (medical affairs and clinical development). Experience in leading teams desirable.
  • Experience in leading and executing medical affairs strategy in multiple therapy areas.
  • Experience of leading innovative medical affairs projects in one or more TA.
  • Holistic understanding of the health system, policy and payor landscape
  • Track record of using various digital tools for customer engagement and understanding newer technologies, artificial intelligence, e-learning platforms
  • Willingness to travel as per job requirements.
