Quant Analytics - Sr. Associate

Job Summary:

The Data & Analytics team is the engine that powers JPMorgan Chase with insights to create competitive advantages for our business and deliver value for our customers.  We have unified data and analytics talent across the firm and encompass a variety of disciplines including data science, reporting, quantitative analytics, and data governance.  Within this organization, the Decision Sciences team leverages industry-leading data-driven techniques to convert data into meaningful insights that enable the firm to drive value and an outstanding customer experience. 

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled data engineer to join our analytics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure to support the data-driven decision-making process of the company. The ideal candidate should be an expert in SQL, Alteryx, and Python and have 5-9 years of relevant experience in data engineering.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform data cleansing, aggregation, and transformation as needed. Design, develop and maintain our data pipelines and infrastructure
• Work closely with the analytics team to ensure data quality and accuracy. Collaborate with other teams to identify and implement new data sources
• Develop and maintain ETL workflows using Alteryx and other tools
• Write complex SQL queries to analyze data and produce reports
• Develop and maintain data visualizations and dashboards
• Design and implement data security and privacy policies
• Monitor data usage and performance to identify and resolve issues

Required Qualification, Capabilities and Skills

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
• 5-9 years of experience in data management or a related field
• Expert-level knowledge of advanced SQL, Alteryx, and Python
• Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, ThoughtSpot, or QlikView
• Experience with big data platforms such as Hadoop, Spark, Databricks, or Snowflake
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Experience in wrangling large, complex datasets, strong database skills and ability to write, optimize and tune complex SQL scripts

Preferred Qualification, Capabilities and Skills

• Previously worked in an insights function at a financial services firm, consulting firm, or a marketing agency
• Have a strong grasp of big data disciplines, Agile (scrum) methodologies, and new technologies
• Are proficient with Business Intelligence (BI) tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI)
