We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager /Senior Manager to join us. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating multiple diverse engineering teams. Your primary focus will be on guiding teams, executing effective strategies, and ensuring the timely completion of projects.As an Engineering (Senior) Manager, you will play a key role in researching and developing innovative products in Critical Event Management (CEM) and Physical security information management (PSIM) space. - Technical Leadership: You will be responsible for creating clarity in all technical aspects of engineering i.e. providing guidance & direction to the teams in matters of design, architecture, implementation, validation and delivery. You are expected to guide team by pointing out pitfalls, set the coding standards by contributing to code reviews and help the team deliver more robust, maintainable and high quality software.
- Execution Leadership: In addition you are also responsible for generating energy in the execution of the project by planning and prioritization of the backlog, allocation of assignments to team members, tracking the execution of the project, and mitigating any risks. You will be collaborate closely with other stakeholders like Product Management, SRE/DRE Teams, Security and Delivery teams to determine feasibility and scope of execution as well as maintain relationships with partner teams for dependencies.
- People Leadership: Finally and most importantly you are responsible for delivering success through people leadership. We expect the Engineering Manager will model the right culture attributes (growth mindset) & values (integrity, accountability, respect) for the team members to follow, coaching the team to be independent leaders and Caring for the team members' needs, aligning the work with their aspirations for career development.
What you’ll bring:
- 15+ years of proven work experience as an Engineering Manager or similar role handling engineering team(s) that built large scale software applications
- Has been a proficient hands-on manager by staying in touch with the code, frameworks, architectures, and other technical details to evaluate team approaches.
- Well-versed in secure programming practices, including experience with scanning tools like Veracode to ensure robust security measures
- Demonstrated aptitude for collaboration across various engineering disciplines, including Software, Site Reliability, Performance,Database Reliability, and Quality Assurance.
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure for deploying and scaling applications.
- Solid understanding of Scrum / Kanban framework
- Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems
- Past experience in windows application development using ASP .NET / C# WWF, WPF frameworks while not mandatory is an added advantage.
- Communication skills for overseeing staff and working with other management personnel
- Detail-oriented with the ability to catch minor errors which can result in major problems
- Ability to do project estimation, decomposition, commitment setting, and execution
