About the job Scheduling Engineer (E3-4)

General Description of Role and Responsibilities:


  • Conducts planning of the project to find ways of enhancing project efficiency, saving time in project delivery, and maximizing its economic return to the Employer.
  • Prepares and attends critical technical discussion meetings with the project consultants and the Employer for the purpose of creating consensus on ways to expedite the planning process and enhance the final master plan.
  • Attends regular meetings with the consultant and Employer representatives to monitor the development of the consultancy services and provide technical assistance to the Employer in directing the planned deliverables.
  • Assists in the preparation of RFPs for sub-consultants whose inputs are needed for the respective consultant to produce the final master plan and its accompanying documents and reports.
  • Review and approve/comment on the Design schedules as submitted by the Contractor and ensure the Design Schedule is in compliance with the overall project schedule.
  • Review all daily, weekly, and monthly reports as submitted by the Contractor and report to the Construction Manager any deficiency or non-compliance.
  • Advise the Construction Manager of any foreseen slippage of progress and corrective actions to be taken.
  • Informs themselves of the relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals, and Procedures within Hill International and ensures continued compliance with these requirements while employed by Hill.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent degrees from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 17+ years of experience in planning and scheduling and in a functional role as a scheduling engineer on mega projects.
  • Experience in executing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling tasks, which include scheduling, control, and analysis at the site and HQ level.
  • Knowledge of supervision and personnel management and training of technical and non-technical staff.
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and start-up processes.
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction management is usually gained over time through specialized education or practical experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct, perform, review, and deliver scheduling deliverables and schedules independently and with minimal direct supervision. This includes the use of professional skills to judge outputs and knowledge associated with technical skills for planning, engineering design, construction, and procurement practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
