About the team
The Platform Team (Cleared Derivatives) team in FIS are a highly motivated and talented bunch of vibrant people. The team operates on the principles of responsibility, accountability, and collaboration. The expertise of the team cuts across technology and business units, as it is one of the few exceptional teams that supports multiple businesses across the globe. Team is primarily responsible to work with vendors to upgrade license/version of dockers and Kafka, manage and fix vulnerabilities, platform network support for cleared derivatives environment.
What you will be doing:
- Provides technical support activities for a software production processing environment.
- Installs, maintains and supports application/source code and/or its components and subsystems including third party software.
- Detects, diagnoses and reports related problems.
- Analyzes and resolves incidents, problems or known errors related to failures in application and supporting software components.
- Provides technical assistance to programming staff in the analysis of application software amends, performance and resource consumption.
- Creates and maintains complete documentation relative to the support of application software.
- Provides twenty-four hour support for applications and supporting software.
- Provides consultation to internal users with regard to software capabilities and use.
- Follows escalation procedures, when appropriate, to resolve incidents, problems or known errors in a timely manner.
- Uses appropriate diagnostic tools to isolate and resolve incidents, problems or known errors.
- Assists development teams in requirements definition, system design and delivery of projects.
What you bring:
- Must have 3-6 Years in platform support in Kafka & Docker
- Should have expertise in working with Linux and shell scripting.
- Should have exposure to container technology Docker, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes and Kafka
- Should have exposure to public cloud esp. Azure, AWS and GCP.
- Should be familiar with basic networking concepts like
- IP addressing schemes.
- How do generic network nodes like firewall, proxy, DNS and routers operate/function.
- Using basic tools like ping, telnet and traceroute for troubleshooting network issue.
- Desirable to have packet analysis skills (Wireshark & TCPDump)
